heldentenor inspired and encouraged me to go back to my own singing
roots. His untimely death on
the stage of the Met while performing the Makropoulos Affair, and the
void it left, somehow added momentum to the encouragement he had already
given me. The opportunity to delve into and dwell with the minds of some
of the greatest creative forces, and to work alongside people who loved
music as much as I did, overcame my hesitancy to enter a career at a
time when many are winding theirs down. I figured, at least the voice is

of Commendator in Don Giovvanni at the Wichita Grand Opera and
Osmin in The Abduction from the Seraglio by Mozart at
Skylight Opera Theater.
